This intimate plein air painting was created after a tennis training session near Ticiano's home in North Carolina.
 
As he often does, Ticiano wandered into the surrounding woods carrying his painting gear, searching for a place that felt quietly alive. Rather than focusing on a particular landmark or viewpoint, he was drawn to the gentle rhythm of tree trunks, shifting patches of sunlight, and the countless shades of green hidden within the forest.
 
Painted entirely on location, Leaves captures a fleeting moment of summer light filtering through the woodland canopy. Loose brushwork and layered color create a rich sense of depth and atmosphere, inviting the viewer to slow down and step into the stillness of the forest.
 
Though modest in scale, this painting reflects Ticiano's ongoing fascination with direct observation and the quiet beauty found in everyday places.
