Power was painted outdoors in the woods near Ticiano's home after one of his regular plein air sessions before tennis practice.
Drawn to the quiet rhythm of towering tree trunks and warm sunlight filtering through the forest, Ticiano painted this peaceful woodland scene entirely from direct observation. The composition is simple and unhurried, allowing light, shadow, and earthy tones to speak with quiet confidence.
Later that same day, during tennis training, something unexpected happened. His forehand carried a level of effortless power unlike anything he had experienced before. It wasn't forced—it simply appeared. The feeling stayed with him long after practice ended, becoming inseparable from the memory of the painting itself.
The title Power was born from that experience.
Rather than describing strength through force or movement, this painting reflects a quieter kind of power—the kind that grows from stillness, focus, and a deep connection with the natural world. It suggests that sometimes our greatest strength emerges not through effort alone, but from moments when the mind becomes calm enough to simply observe.
